So what USA can do? this seems to be an inappropriate question, I mean what the heck I am asking, they are the super power, they have bent all the so called sovereign countries, remember it made India to voted in favour of sanctions against the "traditional friend" Iran in IAEA, in our dearest neighbour Pakistan, no matter what the popular opinion is, no matter whom so ever won; Americans would always be greeted with flowers! For long US has behaved as a Santa with the velvet gloves, you can get your Christmas gift provided you are playing by the Santa's rule, and if you wont; you would be marginalised, Cuba was isolated for so long, various sanctions was imposed, everyone knows that it would have done much better had Americans being at least neutral towards them.
So when Sweden, the country that finishes always in top 3 in human right index issued the non bailable warrant against Julian Assange for the charges of "unprotected sex" (I've to check it but I wonder how many countries have a law that amounts unprotected sex to rape! ) was really not a path breaking news, even this did not made the world surprised when a severity one Interpol notice was issued against him, there are likes of Daud Ibrahim who are still roaming free in some "undisclosed locations" has hardly been touched by anyone from Interpol, paypal and Mastercards pulled out from wikileaks site and the domain name Wikileaks.org was withdrawn by it's hosting server EveryDNS citing the DOS attacks; all the news channels broke that news what everyone was expecting soon, day before yesterday that the daring chief of Wikileaks was arrested in London. This made most of commons like us believe that the Australian finally have to pay the retribution for defying Uncle Sam, signifying the world is still the same place as much improper and inperfect as it was earlier. So go and have your dinner, chid America and move to bed!
But then yesterday, I read which was very strange, the group of Internet hackers started an operation called "operation payback"; they created so much concurrent sessions on the mastercard and paypal sites that the genuine user who were to use it started feeling the heat of it, this means a certain loss of business, what is more interesting is that there exists the tools which you can download and also become a part of this operation, the motive of this operation is to make those organizations pay for what they have done with Assange! These attackers are amorphous, they have nothing in common, but one; they've made Americans and other authorities believe that Assange is not alone in his fight, no matter if the governments turned their back, this amorphous movement would do the counter hacking of those betrayed wikileaks, which till now is thougt that only Chineese do. They are united by the feeling of "super nationalim". Who knows may be an Indian and a Pakistani hacker are working together on hacking the same mastercard site.
This then, on a macro level, turns out to be a war between the world and it's goverments. Internet has become such a powerful tool in integrating the people across the globe that it has started threatning the well defined structures of the goverments, I might sound a little exaggerating, but this operation payback could be a small step in the bringing the essence of true super nationalism, I am curiously waiting for what would be the goverment's responce on this, would there be any arrests; or there would be counter counter attacks? if this happens, it would remind me the actions of the autocratic regiems after treaty of Vienna in 1815, when every monarchy was backing each other in Europe and threatning the radicals and liberals, what happened later, every one knows!
Just now read that Swedish govermental portal is down, I can sense the change is in the wind, at least when I log on to facebook or to wikileaks, reading the outburst of public, very interested to see where we are heading!
